Easter Seals provides exceptional services to ensure that people with disabilities and their families have equal opportunity to live, learn, work and play in their communities.
Easter Seals Peoria-Bloomington has served children and adults with developmental delays and disabilities including autism, mental retardation, speech and language disorders, cerebral palsy and other special needs throughout Central Illinois for almost 90 years. Regardless of ability to pay, individuals benefit from a broad array of programs delivered at two service centers (Peoria & Bloomington) and at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center. In 2006, the Board of Directors identified four strategic centers of excellence that are now being pursued with great energy and commitment, and all programs and services are directly related to: Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Pediatric Therapy Services, and Outdoor Recreation and Camping. During FY2006 Easter Seals served more than 10,800 individuals and spent 88% of budget dollars on direct program services. Easter Seals is accredited as an outpatient medical rehabilitation center by CARF (Commission on Accreditation for Rehabilitation Facilities.) Easter Seals is not a United Way funded agency.
